I believe people who have suicidal thoughts or feelings should be able to freely express those painful emotions without being deeply judged, ostracized or labeled crazy or broken. We lock away these feelings in fear that we will be locked up for expressing them. I know that when I’ve been able to express suicidal thoughts/feelings openly without fear of punishment, I’ve been able to find a space of calm thought and reflection in order to widen my perspective and break out of the box that was enclosing on me. Having a neutral ear to act as a sounding board is all it takes to help someone out of their tunnel vision of pain. What do you think about opening candid conversation about suicidal thoughts?
